EnshroudedEnshrouded offers five difficulty presets that shape your entire gameplay experience, from a relaxed base-building focus to hardcore survival challenges. The "Back to the Shroud" update introduced these presets along with over 30 individual settings you can customize when using the Custom preset.
Difficulty presets cannot be changed mid-game. Changing the preset requires starting a new world.
Changing the Game Settings Preset
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and Stop your server.
- Click the Settings tab and select Enshrouded World Settings.
- Locate Game Settings Preset and select your preferred preset.
- Click Save and Start your server.
Available Presets

| Relaxed | Fewer enemies, more resources and loot - focuses on base-building and exploration |
| Hard | More enemies that are more aggressive - tougher combat experience |
| Survival | Enables hunger/starvation, aggressive enemies, lose backpack on death |
| Custom | Unlocks all 30+ individual game settings for full customization |
Choosing the Right Preset
- New players: Start with Default for a balanced experience
- Base builders: Choose Relaxed for fewer combat interruptions
- Challenge seekers: Pick Hard or Survival for tougher gameplay
- Full control: Select Custom to adjust individual settings
Selecting "Custom" enables all the granular game settings found in Enshrouded World Settings.
Your difficulty preset is now configured. The selected preset will define the challenge level for your world, from resource availability to enemy aggression. If you chose Custom, you can now fine-tune over 30 individual game settings to create your perfect Embervale experience.
