How to Use Steam Beta Branches on Your ASKA Server

Switch to Steam beta branches to test new ASKA features.

Steam beta branches allow you to access experimental features, test upcoming updates, or roll back to previous versions of ASKA. This is useful for testing new content before it's officially released.

Beta branches may be unstable and could cause issues with your server or save files. Always backup your save data before switching branches.

Switching to a Beta Branch

  1. Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and Stop your server. Wabbanode control panel with stop button
  2. Click the Settings tab and select ASKA Server Settings. Wabbanode Settings tab with ASKA Server Settings selected
  3. Locate Steam Beta and enter the beta branch name (leave empty for public). Steam Beta setting in ASKA Server Settings
  4. Click Save and Start your server.

To return to the stable public version, clear the Steam Beta field (leave it empty) and restart your server.

Important Notes

  • Players must also switch to the same beta branch in their Steam client to connect
  • Beta branches may not always be available
  • Check the ASKA Steam announcements for available beta branches and their names
  • Some features in beta may change or be removed before public release

Your server is now configured to use the specified Steam beta branch.
