Palworld servers don’t have a single "difficulty" switch, but you can fine‑tune various settings to make the game easier or harder. This article shows you how to change time speeds, experience rates and other variables using the Wabbanode Control Panel.
There is no global difficulty slider for dedicated servers. Instead, tweak individual settings like spawn rates, damage multipliers and hunger depletion to achieve the desired challenge.
Accessing Difficulty Settings
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and Stop your server.
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Tweak the following game settings to your liking:
- Day Time Speed Rate controls how fast daytime passes; values above 1 make days shorter.
- Night Time Speed Rate controls night length.
- Experience Rate multiplies the amount of experience players gain; lower values make levelling slower.
- Pal Capture Rate affects how easy it is to catch pals.
- Pal Spawn Rate determines how frequently new pals appear.
- Damage Rates includes Pal and Player attack/defence multipliers.
- Hunger & Stamina Rates adjusts how quickly hunger and stamina decrease for players and pals.
- Set each value according to the difficulty you want. Higher attack multipliers or faster hunger depletion increase difficulty; lower capture or spawn rates make pals rarer.
- Click Save and then Start your server for the changes to take effect.
Tips for Balancing Difficulty
- Combine multiple adjustments for a balanced challenge. For example, reduce the experience rate while increasing enemy damage.
- Avoid extreme values that make the game unplayable. Incremental changes let you test how the server feels.
- Remember to communicate any major difficulty changes to your players.
Customising individual settings allows you to create a Palworld experience tailored to your group’s preferred level of challenge.
