Hardcore mode in Palworld makes death permanent and dramatically increases the difficulty. When enabled, players cannot respawn and may permanently lose their pals. Use this mode to create a high‑stakes server for experienced players.
Hardcore mode is unforgiving. Make sure everyone on your server understands that characters and pals lost in this mode cannot be recovered.
Enabling Hardcore Settings
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and Stop your server.
- Open the Settings tab and find the Hardcore Mode toggle. Set it to Enabled. This corresponds to the
bHardcore
setting and prevents players from respawning upon death. - If you also want pals to be permanently lost when players die, enable Pal Loss on Death (corresponds to
bPalLost
). - Optionally, enable Allow Character Recreate in Hardcore if you want players to be able to recreate a new character after dying. Otherwise they will not be able to return to the server.
- Click Save and then Start your server.
Informing Your Players
- Announce the hardcore rules in your server description so players know what to expect.
- Encourage players to back up important pals and items by storing them before venturing out.
- Remind players that leaving the server does not reset the hardcore state; death remains permanent.
Turning on hardcore mode creates a thrilling, high‑risk Palworld server. Use the Settings tab to enable permanent death and pal loss, and enjoy the challenge with like‑minded players.
