Vehicles in Project Zomboid provide fast transportation and zombie-crushing capability. You can configure how vehicles behave on your server, including speed limits and how much noise attracts zombies.
Vehicle Settings
| Setting | Default | Range | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Speed Limit | 70 | 10-150 | Maximum vehicle speed |
| Car Engine Attraction Modifier | 0.5 | 0-10 | Zombie attraction range multiplier |
Configuring Vehicle Settings
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and Stop your server.

- Click the Settings tab and select Project Zomboid World Settings.

- Locate the Speed Limit setting under Performance & Optimization.

- Click Save and Start your server.
Speed Limit
The Speed Limit setting controls the maximum speed vehicles can travel:
| Value | Effect |
|---|---|
| 10 | Very slow, crawling speed |
| 70 | Default, balanced speed |
| 100 | Fast, highway speeds |
| 150 | Maximum, very fast travel |
Lower speed limits can help with server performance and reduce vehicle-related lag on busy servers.
Car Engine Attraction Modifier
This setting controls how far away zombies can hear running vehicle engines:
| Value | Effect |
|---|---|
| 0.0 | Engines don't attract zombies |
| 0.5 | Default attraction range |
| 1.0 | Normal attraction range |
| 5.0+ | Very large attraction range |
Lower values make vehicles safer but less realistic. Higher values create more danger when driving through infested areas.
