VOIP (Voice Over IP) allows players to communicate using voice chat. Project Zomboid features proximity-based voice chat where players can only hear others who are nearby.
Voice chat can attract zombies if players are too loud. This adds a survival element where players must balance communication with stealth.

Configuring VOIP
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and Stop your server.

- Click the Settings tab and select Project Zomboid World Settings.

- Locate the Voice Enable setting under Features.

- Click Save and Start your server.
Voice Distance Settings
Voice Min Distance
The minimum tile distance for voice to be heard at full volume.
- Default: 10 tiles
- Players within this range hear voice clearly
Voice Max Distance
The maximum tile distance for voice to be heard at all.
- Default: 100 tiles
- Voice fades out beyond the minimum distance
Voice 3D
When enabled, audio is directional:
- Players can tell which direction voices come from
- More immersive experience
- Helps locate other players
How VOIP Works
Project Zomboid uses proximity-based voice chat:
- Players can only hear others within Voice Max Distance
- Voice volume decreases with distance
- Walls and buildings can muffle sound
- Zombies can hear loud players
Moderation
If you need to silence a disruptive player, use the voice ban command:
voiceban "username" -true
To restore voice chat:
voiceban "username" -false
Admin Radio Settings
You can disable radio transmissions from staff:
- Disable Radio Staff - Disables for all staff
- Disable Radio Admin - Disables for admins
- Disable Radio Invisible - Disables for invisible players
VOIP is configured. Players can now use voice chat according to your settings.
