Auto Pause stops the game simulation when no players are connected to the server. This saves server resources and prevents your factory from running (and potentially encountering issues) while you're away.
Auto Pause is recommended for most servers to reduce unnecessary resource usage and prevent potential factory issues while no one is playing.
Configuring Auto Pause
- Launch Satisfactory and open the Server Manager from the main menu.

- Select your server and click the Server Settings tab.

- Locate the Auto Pause setting and enable or disable as desired.

- Click Apply to save.
When to Use Auto Pause
Enable Auto Pause When:
- You want to save server resources when empty
- Your factory doesn't need to run 24/7
- You want to prevent issues (power outages, resource depletion) while away
Disable Auto Pause When:
- You want your factory to produce continuously
- You have automated systems that need to run constantly
- You're playing with friends across different time zones
How It Works
| Players Connected | Server Behavior |
|---|---|
| 1 or more | Game runs normally |
| 0 (empty) | Game pauses (if enabled) |
When the first player reconnects, the game automatically resumes from where it paused.
Auto Pause is configured. Your server will pause automatically when empty based on your setting.
