TerrariaEach Terraria character has their own inventory, health, mana, and progression. Creating a new character lets you start fresh or try different difficulty modes without affecting your existing characters.
Hardcore characters are permanently deleted when they die. Choose this mode only if you want a serious challenge.
Creating a New Character
- Launch tModLoader and click Single Player from the main menu.
- Click New to create a new character.
- Enter a name for your character and choose your character's difficulty mode.
- Customize your character's appearance (hair, clothing, colors).
- Click Create to save your character.
Character Difficulty Modes

| Classic | Drop coins on death |
| Mediumcore | Drop all items on death |

| Journey | Creative mode features, no penalties |
Your new character is ready to join any Terraria or tModLoader server.
