TerrariaSecure mode restricts your tModLoader server to only accept connections from players with verified Steam accounts. Disabling this setting allows all players to connect, regardless of their Steam verification status.
Secure mode helps prevent cheating and unauthorized access. Only disable it if you trust all players who will be connecting to your server.
With secure mode disabled, your server becomes more vulnerable to unauthorized access and potential cheating. Consider using a strong server password for additional protection.
Disabling Secure Mode
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and Stop your server.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Locate the Is Secure field and set it to
0.
- Click Save and Start your server.
When to Disable Secure Mode
Consider disabling secure mode if:
- Players are having trouble connecting due to Steam verification issues
- You're running a private server with trusted friends
- You want to allow players using offline Steam mode
Your server will now accept connections from all players, regardless of Steam verification status.
