How to Update Your tModLoader Server

Enable automatic updates to keep your Terraria tModLoader server running the latest version.

tModLoader receives regular updates with bug fixes, new features, and compatibility improvements. Enabling automatic updates ensures your server stays current and compatible with players running the latest version.

Players must be running the same tModLoader version as your server to connect. After updates, remind players to update their client through Steam.

Enabling Automatic Updates

Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and Stop your server.
Click the Settings tab.
Enable the Automatic Updates toggle.
Click Save and Start your server.

Your server will now check for and install updates automatically when it starts.

What Gets Updated

Updates replace only the tModLoader server files. Your world saves, mods, and configuration are preserved.

Your server will automatically stay up-to-date with the latest tModLoader version.
