Minecraft's chat reporting system allows players to report chat messages directly to Mojang, which can result in global bans from multiplayer. Server owners may want to disable this feature to maintain full control over moderation on their server. This guide shows you how to disable chat reporting using the Wabbanode Control Panel.
Disabling Chat Reporting
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and select your Minecraft server.
- Stop your server if it is currently running. You cannot modify server settings while the server is online.

- Click Settings to access your server properties.

- Click Open File.

- Locate the Enforce Secure Profile option and set it to false.

- Click Save File at the top of the page to apply your changes.

- Start your server.
Once your server restarts, chat reporting will be disabled and players will not be able to report messages to Mojang from your server.
How Enforce Secure Profile Works
The Enforce Secure Profile setting controls whether the server requires players to have cryptographically signed chat messages. When enabled, all chat messages are digitally signed and can be reported to Mojang's moderation team.
Troubleshooting
- Setting not available. The Enforce Secure Profile setting is only available in Minecraft 1.19 and later. Older versions do not have this feature.
- Players still seeing report button. The client may still show the report button, but reports will not be processed by Mojang when this setting is disabled.
- Cannot join with modded clients. If players using modded clients cannot join, verify that Enforce Secure Profile is set to false and that Online Mode is configured appropriately.
Disabling chat reporting on your Minecraft server gives you complete control over moderation and allows more flexibility for your server community. Make sure to implement alternative moderation methods to keep your server safe and welcoming.
