Simple Voice Chat is a very popular addon for Fabric bringing Proximity Voice Chat into your Minecraft world, adding improved levels of immersion and opens up more collaboration for your community.
Wabbanode makes it very easy to add new ports to your server and configure your Simple Voice Chat mod to use it. For this guide, we will be installing the Simple Voice Chat Mod for Fabric 1.21.5 but the steps will be the same across different versions.
Note that you should have Fabric installed on your server first. If you haven't done that yet, we have a helpful article that will show you How to Install Fabric on your Minecraft Server.
Opening Simple Voice Chat Ports
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and press Ports on the left.
- Press Assign New Port to open a new port allocation for your server mods and plugins, such as Simple Voice Chat.
- Optional: Assign your new port a memorable name, such as
Voice Chat
. After which, copy your new port.
Installing Simple Voice Chat Fabric Mod
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and Stop your Server.
- Open your Files.
- Navigate to Simple Voice Chat on Modrinth and download the version of the mod you want.
- Drag and drop your Voice Chat mod into the
mods
folder. - Start your server to generate the config files and then Stop the server.
- Navigate to the
config/voicechat/voicechat-server.properties
file and update the port to match your copied port from earlier. No other changes are needed in this file. - Start your server, and you'll see the port has been bound correctly when the server has finished starting.
By following these steps, you've now correctly installed Simple Voice Chat on your Fabric 1.21.5 server. When players connect to the server with the mod installed, they'll be automatically connected to the Simple Voice Chat port without needing any further changes.
