When players die in Project Zomboid, their respawn options depend on your server settings. You can configure whether they respawn at their death location, with other players, or at a safehouse.
When no respawn options are enabled, players must create a new character after death. Their old character becomes a zombie carrying their items.

Configuring Player Respawn
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and Stop your server.

- Click the Settings tab and select Project Zomboid Server Settings.

- Locate the Player Respawn With Self setting under Entities & Mobs.

- Click Save and Start your server.
Respawn Options Explained
Player Respawn With Self
When enabled, players can choose to respawn at the exact coordinates where they died.
- Useful for recovering items quickly
- Player spawns near their zombified corpse
- Good for casual or learning servers
Player Respawn With Other
When enabled, players can respawn at a split screen or Remote Play player's location.
- Allows co-op partners to stay together
- Useful for shared play sessions
Safehouse Allow Respawn
When enabled, players respawn at a safehouse they were a member of before death.
- Provides a safe spawn location
- Requires safehouse to be claimed first

Player respawn settings are configured. Players will now experience death and respawn according to your server's rules.
