The Enable Greetings setting controls whether NPCs initiate greeting dialogue when players walk near them.
In Skyrim, NPCs often call out to the player with greetings like:
- "Need something?"
- "Looking to protect yourself, or deal some damage?"
- "I work for Belethor, at the general goods store."
These ambient greetings add atmosphere but can become repetitive.
Disabling greetings does NOT affect intentional NPC dialogue. You can still talk to NPCs normally - this only disables the automatic "walking near them" greetings.
Configuring NPC Greetings
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and Stop your server.

- Click the Settings tab and select Skyrim Together STServer.ini.

- Locate the Enable Greetings setting and set it to your preference.

- Enabled: NPCs greet players as they approach
- Disabled: NPCs do not initiate greeting dialogue
- Click Save and Start your server.
NPC greetings are now configured according to your preference. Enjoy a quieter (or livelier) Skyrim experience.
