As a server admin, you can kick or ban players who violate your server rules or disrupt gameplay. The Forest provides two methods for managing players.
You must be logged in as an admin to kick or ban players. See How to Become Admin for instructions.
Method 1: Using the Player List
- Join your server as an admin.
- Press Tab to open the player list.
- Click on the player you want to manage.
- Click Kick to temporarily remove them, or Ban to permanently block them.
Method 2: Using Chat Commands
- Join your server as an admin.
- Press Enter to open the chat.
- Use one of the following commands:
| Command | Description |
|---|---|
/kick [SteamID] | Temporarily remove a player from the server |
/ban [SteamID] | Permanently ban a player from the server |
/unban [SteamID] | Remove a player's ban |
Finding a Player's SteamID
To use the chat commands, you'll need the player's SteamID64. You can find this by:
- Visit SteamID.net.
- Enter the player's Steam username or profile URL in the search field.

- Locate the SteamID64 (Dec) field in the results.

- Copy this number for use in commands.
The SteamID64 (Dec) is a 17-digit number that looks like 76561199811316573. Make sure you copy the decimal version, not the hex version.
Kick vs Ban
