The Init Type setting controls whether your server starts a new game or continues from an existing save when it boots up.
Setting Init Type to New will start a fresh game, resetting all progress in the current save slot. Make sure to backup your save if you want to preserve it.
Configuring the Init Type
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and Stop your server.

- Click the Settings tab and select The Forest Game Settings.

- Locate Init Type and select your desired option:
- New — Start a fresh game
- Continue — Load from the existing save slot

- Click Save and Start your server.

|---|---|
| New | Creates a new world, resetting all buildings, items, and progress |

When to Use Each Option
- New: Starting a fresh playthrough, resetting after completing the game, or testing server settings
- Continue: Normal gameplay where you want to preserve progress between sessions
The Init Type setting works with the Save Slot setting. Make sure you have the correct save slot selected before starting. See How to Change the Save Slot for more information.
