How to Use Steam Beta Branches on Your The Forest Server

Switch to Steam beta branches to test new The Forest features before public release.

Steam beta branches allow you to run experimental or development versions of The Forest on your server. This can be useful for testing new features or accessing specific game versions.

Beta versions are not recommended for production servers. Use at your own risk and always backup your save files before switching branches.

Switching to a Beta Branch

Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and Stop your server.
Click the Settings tab and select The Forest Server Settings.
Locate Steam Beta and enter the beta branch name.
If the branch requires a password, enter it in Steam Beta Password.
Click Save and Start your server.

Leave the Steam Beta field empty to use the public release version.

Important Considerations

Beta branches may contain bugs or incomplete features
Players must also switch to the same beta branch in their Steam client to connect
Save files from beta versions may not be compatible with public releases
Some beta branches require a password from the developers

Your server is now running on the specified beta branch.
