Adding an admin to your Valheim server allows trusted players to use in-game commands, kick disruptive users, and help manage your server. This guide walks you through finding a player's Steam ID and adding them to the admin list via the Wabbanode Control Panel.
Finding Your Steam ID
Before adding an admin, you'll need to find the player's Steam64 ID. This is a unique 17-digit number that identifies each Steam account.
- Visit SteamID.net.
- Enter the player's Steam username or profile URL in the search field.

- Locate the SteamID64 (Dec) field in the results.

- Copy this number — you'll need it for the next steps.
The SteamID64 (Dec) is a 17-digit number that looks like 76561199811316573. Make sure you copy the decimal version, not the hex version.
Adding an Admin to Your Server
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and select your Valheim server.
- Stop your server.

- Click the Files tab.

- Open the saves folder.

- Click on adminlist.txt to open the file.

- Enter the Steam64 ID you copied earlier. Add one ID per line if you're adding multiple admins.

- Click Save and Start your server.
Once the server restarts, the added players will have admin permissions. They can now use admin commands in-game by pressing F5 to open the console. See our guide on How to Enable the Console in Valheim if you haven't enabled the console yet.
