How to Install BepInEx on Your Valheim Client

To play on a modded Valheim server, you need BepInEx installed on your PC. The easiest way to install and manage BepInEx and mods is using r2modman, a free mod manager.

Installing r2modman

r2modman is a mod manager that makes installing BepInEx and mods simple.

1. Visit the r2modman Thunderstore page.
2. Click Manual Download to download the installer.
3. Extract the downloaded .zip file to a folder on your computer.
4. Run the r2modman Setup installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
5. Launch r2modman once installation is complete.

Setting Up r2modman for Valheim

1. When r2modman opens, select Valheim from the game list and click Select Game.
2. Click Select profile to create a new mod profile.

Setting Your Valheim Directory

r2modman needs to know where Valheim is installed on your PC.

1. Open Steam and find Valheim in your library.
2. Right-click Valheim and select Manage > Browse Local Files.
3. Copy the file path from the folder that opens.
4. In r2modman, go to Settings > Locations.
5. Paste the path into Change Valheim Folder and save.

Installing BepInEx

1. In r2modman, click the Online tab on the left sidebar.
2. Find BepInExPack_Valheim at the top of the list and click Download.
3. Click Download with dependencies to install BepInEx and all required files.

BepInEx is now installed and ready to use.

Launching Valheim with Mods

To play Valheim with your installed mods:

1. Open r2modman.
2. Select your Valheim profile.
3. Click Start Modded to launch the game with mods enabled.

Installing Additional Mods

With BepInEx installed, you can add more mods:

1. In r2modman, go to the Online tab.
2. Browse or search for mods you want to install.
3. Click Download and then Download with dependencies.

Make sure you install the same mods that your server is running.
