Muting a player prevents them from sending messages in chat. This is useful for dealing with spammers or toxic players without removing them from the server entirely.
Finding Online Players
Before muting a player, you may need to find their exact name. Use the status command in the console to see all connected players:
status
This will display a list of all online players with their names and Steam IDs.
Muting a Player
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and select your Rust server.
- Click the Console tab.

- Enter the following command:
mute "Wabbaguy"
The player will no longer be able to send messages in chat.
Unmuting a Player
To restore a player's chat privileges, use the following command:
unmute "Wabbaguy"
The player has been muted on your server. They can still play but cannot send chat messages until you unmute them.
