How to Update Your Rust Server

Learn how to enable automatic updates to keep your Rust server running the latest version.

Rust receives regular updates from Facepunch that include new content, bug fixes, and security patches. Enabling automatic updates ensures your server stays up to date with the latest version from Steam.

If you have mods installed (uMod/Oxide or Carbon), updates may make them temporarily incompatible until the mod frameworks are updated to support the new version.

Enabling Automatic Updates

Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and Stop your server.
Click the Settings tab.
Ensure the Automatic Updates toggle is enabled.
Click Save and Start your server.

Your server will now automatically update to the latest version from Steam each time it starts.

Automatic updates are now enabled on your Rust server. Your server will stay up to date with the latest Rust version.
