Sons of the Forest uses a file-based admin system where you add player SteamID64s to a whitelist file. Unlike The Forest which uses a password system, Sons of the Forest requires manually adding each admin to the server files.
Adding Admins to Your Server
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and Stop your server.

- Go to the Files tab and navigate to the server root directory.

- Open or create the file ownerswhitelist.txt.

- Add each admin's SteamID64 on a new line (one per line).

- Click Save and Start your server.
Finding a Player's SteamID64
To add admins, you'll need each player's SteamID64. This is a unique 17-digit number that identifies each Steam account.
- Visit SteamID.net.
- Enter the player's Steam username or profile URL in the search field.

- Locate the SteamID64 (Dec) field in the results.

- Copy this number and add it to your ownerswhitelist.txt file.
The SteamID64 (Dec) is a 17-digit number that looks like 76561199811316573. Make sure you copy the decimal version, not the hex version.
Example ownerswhitelist.txt
76561198012345678
76561198087654321
76561199811316573
Each line should contain exactly one SteamID64 with no additional characters or spaces.
Admin privileges have been granted. Players can now activate admin mode in-game using the cheatstick command.
