Sons of the ForestSons of the Forest includes an admin panel and console commands that allow server administrators to spawn items, modify gameplay, and manage the server. This guide covers all available commands and how to use them.
You must be an admin to use console commands. See How to Add Admins and How to Become Admin for setup instructions.
Accessing the Admin Panel
- Ensure your SteamID64 is in the ownerswhitelist.txt file.
- Join your server.
- Press Enter to open the chat.
- Type
cheatstick(the text won't appear - this is normal). - Press Enter to confirm.
- Press F1 to open the admin panel.
Your keyboard must be set to US layout for the cheatstick command to register correctly. If it doesn't work, check your keyboard language settings.
Admin Panel Features
The admin panel provides a graphical interface to:
- Spawn items and characters
- Toggle god mode and invisibility
- Enable super jump and fast run
- Regenerate health
- Modify companion behavior (Kelvin, Virginia)
- Force-kill enemies
- Adjust various difficulty settings
Console Commands
Commands are entered in the chat window (press Enter to open). Successful commands show green confirmation text.
Player Commands

Troubleshooting
Commands not working:
- Verify you're an admin (SteamID64 in ownerswhitelist.txt)
- Make sure keyboard is set to US layout
- Type commands exactly as shown (case-sensitive)
Admin panel won't open:
- Re-enter
cheatstickand press Enter - Try pressing F1 multiple times
- Rejoin the server and try again
You now have access to all admin commands on your Sons of the Forest server.
