The auto save interval determines how frequently your server automatically saves the game state. More frequent saves reduce progress loss but may cause brief performance hiccups during the save process.
The save interval is specified in seconds, not minutes. For example, 600 seconds equals 10 minutes.
Changing the Auto Save Interval
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and Stop your server.

- Click the Settings tab and select Sons of The Forest Game Settings.

- Locate Save Interval and enter your desired time in seconds.

- Click Save and Start your server.
Recommended Settings
| Interval | Seconds | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| 5 minutes | 300 | Frequent saves for active servers with lots of building |
| 10 minutes | 600 | Default setting, good balance for most servers |
| 15 minutes | 900 | Less frequent saves for smoother gameplay |
| 30 minutes | 1800 | Minimal save interruptions, higher risk of progress loss |
Considerations
- Shorter intervals (300-600 seconds): Better for active servers where players are frequently building or making progress. Less risk of losing progress if the server crashes.
- Longer intervals (900-1800 seconds): Better for servers where you want minimal interruptions. Players may lose more progress if the server crashes.
The auto save interval has been configured on your server.
