Resetting your Valheim server world allows you to start fresh with a new seed and unexplored map. You can either create a new world by changing the world name in settings, or delete the existing world files entirely. This guide covers both methods.
This action is irreversible! Resetting your world will permanently delete all buildings, items, and progress. Make sure to create a backup before proceeding.
Don't know how to backup? Read our guide on How to Backup Your Server Files.
Method 1: Using Settings
This method creates a new world while keeping your old world files intact. You can switch back to your previous world later by changing the world name back.
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and select your Valheim server.
- Stop your server.

- Click the Settings tab.

- Locate the World Name field and enter a new value.

- Click Save and Start your server.
When the server starts, a brand new world will be generated with the new name.
Your old world files are still saved. To return to your previous world, simply change the World Name back to its original value.
Method 2: Deleting World Files
This method permanently removes your world data and generates a completely fresh world with the same name.
- Navigate to the Wabbanode Control Panel and select your Valheim server.
- Stop your server.

- Click the Files tab.

- Open the saves folder.

- Select the worlds_local folder and click Delete.

- Start your server.
A new world will be automatically generated when the server boots up.
Your Valheim server now has a fresh world ready for exploration. All previous buildings, chests, and progress have been removed.
